Inspired by the Celtic spiritual wisdom articulated by John Philip Newell in Sacred Earth, Sacred Soul, this day-long SoulCollage® retreat invites us to recover an ancient and life-giving truth: the Earth is sacred, and so are we. Long before theology drifted toward separation and domination, Celtic spirituality proclaimed the goodness of creation, the holiness of the body, and the nearness of God within the natural world.
Through guided reflection, gentle ritual, card-making, journaling, and shared listening, we will explore themes of kinship with creation and the sacredness of both Earth and soul.
Contemplative practices will inspire the creation of SoulCollage® cards that give voice to our relationship with Earth—both the outer landscape and the inner terrain of the soul. In keeping with Newell’s call to remember what has been forgotten, this day is about re-membering: restoring right relationship with the Earth, with our bodies, and with the divine presence that breathes through all things.
SoulCollage® offers a gentle, intuitive process for accessing inner wisdom through images. No artistic ability is required—only openness to imagination, reflection, and sacred listening.
This workshop is open to beginners and experienced SoulCollage® practitioners alike and is especially meaningful for those drawn to Celtic spirituality, eco-theology, contemplative practice, and creative soul care.
